Citizen Men’s Eco-Drive Black Ion-Plated Skyhawk Watch #JR3155-54E Reviews.
I just picked this watch up after realizing I didn’t want to wear my Tag watch everyday… go figure. I got this watch because it fits in with my job, military pilot… after comparing all the other similar watches on the market I chose this one. It’s comfortable, stong, and it looks great. The coolest feature is the ECO Drive… it’s got a battery meter on the dial to show how much charge you have. It’s pretty cool when you take the watch out of the case if you put it away for a while it goes into some sort of power saving mode when it’s in pitch black and when the light hits it again the dials spin around to catch up to the current time… kinda cool and it lets you know this is really a high tech time piece! The other features on it take a little while to get used to. I love the time zone features and that this has the look of an analog watch with all the features of a digital watch. Haven’t had a chance to use the bezel yet… more of a novelty than anything else I think… however it gives the watch a unique look and distinguishes it from a lot of other watches… if you’re comparing it to other watches like it, with the bezels and all. I would definately go for this one. I picked black because it’s a little different than my other watches and because I prefered a black watch in what I wear to work. Just pick what color you like best, there’s a few different looks to choose from. The black is really good looking though. It’s got the competition beat in features, value, appearance, comfort… you name it, this watch is best in class! You won’t be disappointed!
I replaced my old (10 years) Citizen Skyhawk watch with this one. I had to replace the battery every 3 years or so. The last time, the watch shop screwed it up. So, I was familiar with the way this watch works. It does not have a light (niether did th old one) so it’s tough to see the digital portion at night or in a darkend area. If you are a pilot, or in the aviation industry and use UTC time, this watch comes in very handy as there is a dial on the face that tracks UTC time. It’s slightly heavier than the older versions, but I figure that’s due to the Eco-Drive. Overall, I am very pleased with it.
I got this watch two months ago and it was exactly what I was looking for. It has all of the bells and whistles and easy to maneuver. It’s my first Citizen eco-drive and probably won’t be my last. I have two Oakley’s, GMT and Detonator, and a Rolex Submariner. I saw this watch around Christmas and no retail store in the area carried them. Still don’t! Price was great since I don’t do retail.
