Never a “primper”, shaving always was a dreaded task! Sometimes I’d let it go until the leg hair tangled into my socks! When my eyes got older, shaving got harder. I’ve tried other electric shavers in the past… scaping my skin but leaving the hair. Moi has changed all of that! The Norelco money back offer convinced me to try it. I’m sold! Does a fabulous job, even dry and no scraped skin! Superior design, compact, safety sealed for complete immersability. I love it! Pricey though… I hope it lasts.

I’ve always been leary of women’s shavers, since my past experiences haven’t been good, but Norelco’s new “Moi for Me” women’s shaver is an exception. It has been designed with a women in mind. The entire unit is thinner than past attempts, which have been bulky and hard to handle. The ergonomical handle is comfortable to hold and the on/off switch is wonderful. The shaver head is much easier to use & clean and it’s small enough to get into small areas. The pivoting head also helps get into the curves and hard to reach areas. The unit has to be charged for 16 hours before the first use and you don’t have to charge it again until it runs down (Norelco suggests that the battery been completely used before charging it). You must be careful to not damage the foil, which covers the cutter. If the foil should become damaged (very delicate and can bend easily) you’ll have to replace it. The unit comes with a very cool and unique charging base, which can be stored away easily or mounted. It also comes with a shower hanging hook. My only issue so far is that the shaver doesn’t work as well on dry skin as it does with wet soapy skin. The first time (and each time after) I used the shaver I got almost the same results as with a traditional disposable razor, which blew me away. To get the maximum use of your investment, Norelco recommends that you replace the foil and cutter block once a year. I highly recommend this product and I think you will enjoy it as much as I have.

I purchased this one because I had Spectra 8825 XL that started acting funny; this is very close to it as a successor, as I think the 8825 was discontinued. The only thing different really is there is an adjustment for closeness that is not on this one and they incorporate more plastic to the body, but they make up for it with rubber grips on the side. The cap for the heads is worthless as they cut it to nothing, and save your old carrying pouch because this one does not come with any. However, I gave 5 stars because those are minor concessions to corporate cutbacks, as the main product itself is still very functional and a great men’s shaver, and it also is still washable so that you can stick it under water to wash the heads and the shaving holder. (Norelco now has a symbol on the back of shavers to show you can do that with a certain model.) Also rechargable. No problems that I’ve seen in operation.

This is my 3rd Norelco electric shaver. This is the best one yet.
It has a long battery life between charges, and gives me a very close and comfortable shave.
The Horelco 7340 is a very good buy for the price!

I’ve long been a single-head braun shaver fan, but when my old one broke after many years I was stumped for a while on what to replace it with. I used a Remington SF3BPT Micro Screen as backup but it just didn’t shave closely. Most of the recent brauns either had narrow or multiple heads or were just too expensive.

I picked up this shaver at Target one day and I’ve loved it since. It has that nice width head, a close shave, and fits my hand nicely. Battery time between recharges and recharge time are good, and it cleans out easily.

So, if you want a great shaver without paying $100, try this one.

The Braun Series 1 Model 190 is an excellent shaver. It is essentially the same shaver as the old Free Control which I reveiwed a few years ago. I recommend the model 190 over the base model (150?) because the 190 fully charges in just 1 hour and is cord/cordless. I have a somewhat thick and coarse beard which requires power and speed to get through it and this one really plows down my whiskers. The thin, flexible foil makes the shave very close, even in the difficult neck areas. The large cutting block along with the powerful motor provide a fast shave without very little irritation. I would have to say that overall it shaves as close as a blade, and even closer in some areas such as the chin and Adam’s apple. Over time I’ve tried other shavers costing 4 times as much and the Braun Series 1 out does them all. It’s also nice to have the option of using it with a cord in case the battery dies during a shave. Here’s an electric shaving tip that not only works with the Braun Series 1 but with other shavers as well. Apply after shave BEFORE shaving (I use Aqua Velva). Let it dry. The alcohol in it causes the beard and even short stubble to stand up from the skin. The result is a shave that is a lot closer. I discovered this technique when I noticed that each time after shaving my face felt very smooth until I applied after shave. Then the smoothness was gone and short stubble appeared. So I figured if this happens as a result of the after shave, why not apply it before shaving? It really works and gives you a much closer shave. Then put on a little more after shave when you’re done and you won’t experience that “mystery growth”. Try it, you’ll be glad you did! And again, don’t waste your money on high priced shavers, you cannot go wrong with the Braun Series 1.
