Very nice Camera,

Hi I just thought I would like to rate this camera because I read a couple bad things about it and they are probably the user fault not the cameras. It has lot of options when it comes to taking pictures and also had lots of easier options for the people who are not that good at digital cameras. I also like the fact that you can crop rotate and enhance your pictures right on the camera instead of downloading them and doing them on another program. I love the color. It also came with a battery charger and the batteries have lasted above expectations. Someday though I hope to use this camera for all of it abilites there is a lot of thigs you can do.

My husband bought this camera for me for Christmas to replace my Sanyo camera that my 1 year old broke, and I have to say that I am glad that he did brake that camera because I absolutely love this one! My sanyo was just a 6 mega pixel and my pictures now compared from then are much better.It has a setting for taking pictures of moving children which really comes in handy for parents with active children. I have been taking pictures non stop of my children since i got it, the only downside is that it eats batteries, the Kodak batteries that came with it only lasted for 2 hours , i suggest investing rechargeable ones, the Duracell rechargeable batteries are great for this camera it has been 3 days since i recharged my batteries and they are no where near dying.

This product is excellent. I had read that the camera went through batteries real quick, however after using this camera for several weeks now, I have not had to replace the batteries yet. I do recommend turning the camera off between pictures, as this is what I do and still have not had to change them.

Worth every penny,

After having read so many negative reviews about various kinds of “print-at-home” papers, I hesitated to invest in a system to print my photos myself. In large part, I worried that the paper made for these docks would not be of a quality that I could pass around at family gatherings and show off in frames. Thankfully, the Kodak EasyShare paper has relieved my fears. My photos come out crisp and clear and ready to be handled. There is no smudging when they are touched and the small accidental spill rolls right off them. Part of this quality, of course, is due to the ink and printing process used. But somehow I doubt that paper from another manufacturer would leave me singing its praises if I substitued it for the Kodak product.

Though other reviewers have said that the media cartridge runs out of ink before all of the paper is used, I have not had that experience. With each of my kits, I received a warning that the cartridge level was low by the time I got down to the last few sheets. I printed the next few pictures–using all of the paper–and was then told to replace the cartrige. The number of sheets and amount of ink are perfectly matched, as Kodak promises. I can’t honestly think of any reason why people would run out of ink before paper unless they purchased defective kits. (Not that I have really given it much thought, either.)

Many people have also commented on the high price per print. For me, the convenience of printing at home at my leisure makes up for that because I print quite a few pictures. However, the thirty cents per print more than people pay going to the store with their digital media may well be a bit pricey for the average Joe or Jane. I do think the price should–and will–come down in time as the market adjusts.

For my time and money, however, I can’t think of a better way to print pictures than sitting at home with a sheaf of Kodak paper in my EasyShare Printer Dock Plus.

I have been using a Kodak digital for several years but not the printer or paper. After visiting my parents and using their kodak printer dock with the PH160 media cartridge kit i purchased i was hooked and had to get me a printer dock. I see people saying that they ran out of ink before paper, that has not happened to me so far. Also, that it like .50 a picture which is true if you buy the smaller 40 or 80 pack. I went with the 160 and it averages to .23 a picture which is well worth the money and is equal to walmarts price and no driving to the store and waiting in line, just do it at home with all the conviences. Heck with these high gas prices ya probably spend some $$$ just to get there and back plus the hassle factor. The print quality is exceptional and kodak paper and ink quality is top of the line and my photos look just as good as store developed pics, imo. Get the ph160 and bring down your average price per pic and enjoy instant at home pics……

I have a newborn and I take pictures of him on a daily basis. I have found the picture quality of the Kodak EasyShare printer much better than the Kodak machine at the drug stores. If you value your pictures as much as I do, I highly suggest the Kodak printer and digital camera. I have never had a problem with either item.

With the CORRECT Battery, a Fantastic Little Camera…,

I’ve been using the Kodak Z712 for the past couple years and LOVE it. However for vacations, it was a bit bulkier then I liked. I didn’t want to downsize from a 12X zoom to a 3X, so I just continued using it till something else caught my attention. Enter the Z1485. An AWESOME little camera.

I received the camera in mid-December. I used the battery that came with it, a non-rechargeable KLIC-8000 Li-Ion. It lasted about a month, all through Christmas (during which I took MANY pictures) and regular daily pics (I have an 11 month old, so I take a lot!). I just changed the battery a few days ago to a rechargeable KLIC-8000 Li-Ion. If you purchase this camera, MAKE SURE you buy the correct battery for it. Of course it’s going to suck up regular AA batteries, it’s a powerful little point and shoot.

The picture clarity is fantastic (keep in mind, I’m just a casual picture taker. Day-to-day pics of my son, and family trips). All the pics I’ve downloaded to my Kodak program and printed out have come out beautifully. I normally use the smart-scene, but sometimes (like during Christmas) I use other settings, like the candle light setting for pics of the Christmas tree. They came out perfect, all nice and soft. The size of the camera itself is perfect…I actually bought an ipod jogging case for it so I can wear it around my wrist or arm during vacations (nice to always have the camera handy), and it fit just fine.

I’ve always used Kodak for their simple no-brainer approach to picture taking, and this camera fits that to a tee. I’m so glad I upgraded. I’ll always love my Z712, but this little guy has everything I need. PLEASE do not be dissuaded by the mediocre reviews here. Most people know NOT to put regular AA batteries in a digital camera. It sucks the life out of them in no time. With the proper batteries, this camera is light, clear, and does an all around GREAT job!

I bought this camera to replace a Kodak 6 MP camera that bit the dust on a recent vacation (user error, no fault of the camera!). I spent several weeks researching cameras, going to every store to hold them in my hands, and ended up buying this gem from Amazon.

I have been very pleased with the picture quality both indoors and out. I am especially impressed with the photo quality in low light (considerably less noise than I have ever experienced in a digital camera). The focus is great, and moves right along with my subjects.

The video is nice, though definitely not why I bought the camera. It is very smooth and works well even in low light. I have had no problems with the battery holding a charge.

My biggest complaint (which I knew when I was buying the camera) is the lack of optical viewfinder. It was nearly impossible for me to find a camera with one, and I would have had to give up other features to get it.

All in all, I am very pleased with this Kodak camera. It is my third Kodak digital camera (a 4 MP, a 6 MP, and now this one) and definitely the best. The price was also fabulous, especially compared with what features rival camera manufacturers offer at this price point.

Clear, detailed pictures,

I bought the camera for the 10X optical zoom, because I’d like to get closer up pictures at concerts and I’m looking forward to taking pictures in the mountains this year with it. I already had a good Kodak camera, but with less zoom and less megapixels. So far, I haven’t gotten to check out the zoom for things like that, but I’ve taken some close up pictures of a butterfly and gotten clear, detailed pictures. You can even see the barbs on its legs. It’s easy to use, I like being able to crop my pictures on the camera, you can even add a sound tag onto your picture. I like that you can put it on smart capture and the camera does the work for you. Its a good, sturdy camera and even though I had read reviews that it was a little bulky, it is smaller than my last digital camera and doesn’t feel bulky to me at all. So far, loving this camera!

After a bad experience with another brand, I decided to go back to a consistant favorite of mine; Kodak.
This Z915 model is exceptional for the price. I compared features across other brands, and this came out as the lowest price for the same features.
10MP means you can crop the heck out of your pictures and they won’t turn grainy. The 10x optical zoom is a deal-sealer for me, since you have the option of getting in close to a subject when you want, without using the ‘digital zoom’ feature thats on digital cameras (which isnt really a zoom, and cuts down on picture quality).
Optical Image Stabilization helps clear up shakey shots, lots of options for both the beginner/casual shooter, and more in depth choices for the experienced photog round out this awesome deal.
Choice of colors is a nice touch, the icing on the cake.

I have had probably ten different digital cameras over the last ten years, mostly Kodak, although the most recent ones were Canon. I was spoiled with the 12x optical zoom on my Kodak Z1012 and the clear, sharp images it produced. I don’t want to carry it in my purse every day though! I recently purchased a Canon SX110, which is small enough to carry daily and takes great photos; however, it doesn’t allow for a date stamp except at 1600×1200 resolution. After researching for several days online, I purchased a Kodak Z915 today. Took it straight to the park and played with it. Got some fantastic photos today. I mean, I was surprisingly truly impressed by the clear, sharp images I got today for a relatively inexpensive camera. I love the 10x zoom — can’t even imagine owning a camera with less after having that feature for a couple of years now. This one does all that I need and does it well. The movie mode seemed to have tiny shifts in focus while recording, but I don’t use the video features on my cameras too often, so not a concern for me. I may play with it some more and see if some tweaking of settings will allow for a smoother playback. Again, can’t say enough how happy I am with the image quality and that’s my main requirement.

A camera that doesn’t cause my wife to close her eyes!!,

My wife and I have tried various cameras, but nearly all of them result in photos where her eyes are closed. It became a bit of a family joke, but it’s actually very frustrating. Several years ago her sister bought a Kodak camera and the photos were terrific, so we bought a Kodak V603 and loved it. No more closed eyes, wonderful colors, great Schneider lens, and it had a nifty little video camera included, was compact, etc. It just recently broke, so we were in the market for a new camera. Luckily, Kodak was just about to release this 580, also with a Schneider lens.

The camera arrived today, is still compact (though a little bigger than our V603), has a much larger viewing screen, and easy to use buttons. The first few photos resulted in her eyes partially closed, but once I selected the “Red-Eye Preflash” option everything was great. Photo after photo and eyes were wide open and beautiful! We’re very pleased.

The video looks great and should be just as easy to pull off the camera as in earlier versions. We don’t really need the 14 Megapixels (who really does?), but I guess one never knows when we might need to blow up a photo to billboard size. Also, the “blue” color is much cooler than expected — it’s really more like a steel blue. The strap took 10 seconds to put on and it took just a few minutes to navigate the directories, set the date & time, and to insert the battery and memory card (memory was purchased separately).

I suggest watching the price, because it will undoubtedly drop. Also, each time I checked the listing over the first week of sale the seller changed between Amazon and independent retailers. Something to keep in mind as you calculate shipping and return policies.

I was hesitant to buy this camera since there seemed to be very few reviews, and of those there were, half were great and the other half were terrible. Well, I am glad that I bought this camera. I am familiar with Kodak cameras, as my last camera was a Kodak Easyshare V1253. This camera is great! The flash is incredibly strong, and pictures taken come out brilliantly lit, and the colors are amazing. I took a simple picture of my kitchen, and I was amazed at how beautiful the picture looked! I didn’t even realize my kitchen looked like that! Really though, I haven’t found any problems with this camera yet. The video it takes is nice quality, but the camera’s sound itself is quite quiet. That’s to say that, when reviewing videos taken, it’s hard to hear what I videotaped. BUT, I’m sure the sound will be fine once the video will be played on a computer or such. I don’t have anything bad to say about this camera. I love the 8x zoom, the wide angle lens… everything. If you are not sure whether to buy this camera, I would say to definitely at least give it a try. I find going to Best Buy and playing with the cameras VERY helpful. You can hold the camera you might end up buying in your own hands, and play with the settings, and see how the general photo quality is. In conclusion, this camera is great!!

I have been spending months looking for a camera with a quality lens that was still pocket size. Most of my prior cameras had Schneider lens and I have been a long time supporter of the Kodak company so the two cameras I finally had to decide between were the z950 and the M580.
I liked the large aperture of these cameras since most people take photos indoors and I couldn’t believe you would get the same photo quality on a lens the size of an erasure head. The z950 has a slightly larger lens but it also has a large housing for the camera. it is .4 inches larger in each measurement. In reviews this was a deal-breaker for many other users. I liked the idea of a larger camera but ultimately chose M580.
The time between power up and first shot is quicker. And although I cannot give specifics the burst photography is much more reliable on the M580. The z950 is quicker between photo one and two, but I have found that when you are needing to take a series of photos quickly (i.e. kids are doing something quickly) the photo taken split seconds after the first one contain the same problems as the original picture. The processing screen still shows up after the second photo but it only is there for half of a second before you get the opportunity to click again. The z950 has a 3 second delay. In today’s fast paced world that is an eternity.
The last reason I chose the M580 was the button layout. I prefer the zoom buttons on the back of the unit. The dial used in the z950 work better when you have your eye pressed against a view finder. The buttons are more distinct on top of the z950. That being said I have yet to press the wrong button by mistake on the m580.

I am new to the digital camera (drag me into the 21st century) and when my great grandson was born I needed to take pictures of my own and not rely on anyone else. I received this camera and was up and taking pictures within hours (had to charge battery). I now am an old pro, this camera is so easy to use and the pictures come out perfect everytime. I would recommend this camera to all age groups who need a basic camera. I even learned how to load the pics onto my computer and onto facebook. Kodak, you are number 1 in my book!

I was tired of hauling around a D200 Nikon. I get great results from it, but it can’t shoot video or fit in my pocket.

I picked up one of these Kodak jobs and was pleased. It had a really good macro, shoots nice video, and has all the stuff I need except for an SD card. You will have to buy one since the camera has limited memory. But it can take up to a 32 gig card. Amazing. The battery seems to have lots of juice too, which is always a problem for small compact cameras. The colors from the software are good. I hate having to photoshop images, and this has a nice color balance. Good flash too.

Excellent inexpensive camera that delivers excellent photos,

Don’t let the Kodak EasyShare M340′s price fool you. It delivers stunning photos with amazing color in an incredibly small package. While it doesn’t have a lot of the controls of more expensive models, it performs well in most lighting conditions. However, do note that this camera will not perform very well in dim lighting — it does not have an autofocus assist light. Personally, the lack of this feature doesn’t bother me as I wanted a simple snapshot camera to carry around and take pictures mindlessly.

The best feature of this camera is the Smart Capture mode. I’m able to take photos knowing that I’ll get a photo that’s been optimized for that “Kodak” look – bright photos with great saturation and contrast, all without the need of Photoshop. It color corrects photos (where possible), and changes contrast in dark areas to reveal details that might otherwise be hidden.

I highly recommend this camera for people who want a simple snapshot camera who simply want to take pictures good/bright lighting who simply don’t care to tweak their photos in a photo editing program.

If you’re wondering about video — it’s okay, but then again, it’s digital camera, not a digital video camera, so don’t expect too much. They’re good enough for posting on the web, but otherwise that’s really about it. With low cost, dedicated video cameras capable of HD like the Kodak Zi6, Flip and Sony cameras, you’ll be happier with a better tool designed to deliver video.

Bought this camera as a gift and it is fantastic! The recipient is a novice, but other members of her family have had years of experience with digital cameras. She has had absolutely no problems with learning to take pictures and has taken some beautiful ones! The other members of her family have tried to “borrow” this camera. The pictures are crystal clear. No one has used the video on the camera. Other members of her family who have used this camera and printed pictures are now in the process of buying this same camera for themselves.

This is just a short review explaining my thoughts on the camera. I took a 4 hour trip to bear valley and while my friend was driving I was snapping like crazy out the window. At 80 mph I got crazy clear shots. Some of the best I have ever taken. For being so cheap $$ wise this camera packs a punch. The Image stabilization is great. Passing signs on the road I would time the shot and get clear details. I’m not here to write some lengthy review of the specs, but this camera has changed my life. I’m 22 and if I had never bought this camera and seen my potential I would have never gotten into Photography, astro-photography, webdesign etc. Bottom line is this picture is for taking pictures. It makes clicking noises which doesn’t bother me. It is so cheap you don’t have to worry about scratching it. It is so portable. It starts up quick which allows me to catch those once in a lifetime shots. Excellent detail without zoom. With zoom pictures can be blurry. Dont buy this camera for crazy crystal clear zoom shots. I have gotten great detail with the zoom but it may take a few shots. Battery is awesome. Menu is simple. Basic set of modes. Good sized screen. The key is having a large memory card. I have 8 gigabytes so thats around 4000 pictures. I literally point and click 20 pictures. Moving at 80mph 14 out of 20 will be crisp. On that bear valley trip I took 2000 pictures. Buy this camera if your thinking of starting photography but don’t want to invest lots of money and find out its not for you. I think of this camera as a good old friend.

this is a great addition for my new kodak 800 series camera. the rechargeable batteries by themselves is well worth it! regular alkaline batteries do not last long at all. one important thing…in order to use this you must have held onto the plastic docking station that is included with the camera.

It will (for me anyway) only charge the Kodak battery pack !
I shoved some nice high end LithIons and it would not charge them.
Oddly the camera dock for my old DX4900 will charge almost anything.

This dock worked great from the start. I got my battery charged in the stated time-frame and downloaded with no problems from my P712. I’m glad I bought it.

Excellent megazoom in a small package,

So far I have to say we (my wife and I) are impressed with the camera. The photos so far are relatively sharp (increasing the sharpness in P mode helps even more) and the colors are great. The ergonomics of the camera are well thought out and the build quality is solid.

Having used small Kodak Cameras for the last few years (v550, v705 & m1033) this is a larger camera. That said, I think that the 10x Zoom will be a nice feature and make the size increase over the pocket cameras worth it.

Shot to Shot performance is a bit on the sluggish side, but not too big of a deal. Shutter lag is very quick and is helpful for catching quick photos since we have a little baby that moves around a lot!

It would have been nice to make the camera Dock compatible, but we can live with plugging it into the iMac with the USB to transfer photos and charge the battery.
Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars (not 5 stars due to the speed between photos and time to clear the buffer when shooting continuously).

I was going to buy the Kodak easyshare Z1015 IS (10 megapixels-15 optical zoom) because it has great reviews, more optical zoom and same price but after comparing the features and specifications of both, pretty much the Z950 has the same things but is not as big as the other one and it has more megapixels-12. It is also newer and looks great too. I took the risk, because I only found 1 review and it was 5stars. I bought it online and I received it on friday and I love the zoom it has and the picture quality. I agree with the thing commented before about the instructions it comes with, they are not so detail but the camara itself is easy to manage and use.

I needed an easy to use camera that takes sharp pictures and video. This camera fits the bill. With the 10X zoom, I took a picture of a lion at the zoo, and I can see his fur like I’m next to him. Video is just as clear. It is easy to upload the pictures to my computer using the supplied USB cord. The price was excellent, too for a camera with all those features.
